I don't think its from any sort of impact. The largest bruise on my screen (there are quite a few now!) is actually over the touchpad where there would be no pressure even if the laptop got "squeezed"

While I wouldn't pick my 5680 up by the screen, I have been quite impressed by its ability to take punishment.
