Yes it does - Half Life 2 (I bought it - its great) seems to run at 30-50 FPS with everything on high except water at the middle setting and no AA and AF.

Do you want a portable lappy or not (since if I were you I would go for something like a 700m or equivilent and a desktop for games etc) Would you have problems building your own system??
