The widescreens are actually growing on me, but just because of the two extra speakers. If the blank space between the speakers was filled with Alienware or an alienhead, I don't think it would be so ugly.

You sound irritated, and you shouldn't be. These things take time, and everyone know what they are getting into when they buy an AW. If you knew you couldn't handle a month or more wait, why did you buy it in the first place?
Don't worry 'bout your computer and don't let all these complaints discourage you. You'll love your laptop, believe me.
