Because at times I believe they were offered as an accessory when ordering .. That and to just annoy people that don't realise its a desktop monitor

If your going to change it I'd do it now .. Once it gets to a certain stage they have to start your order from scratch if there are any changes ..

the 2 in dual channel are better for performance .. But if you use or plan to use more than a gig I'd go the second route so you can add another 1gig stick in the future giving 2 gigs in dual channel ..

Why didn't you just go to the store later that day and picked it up? Thats what I always have to do .. I'm always at work when they attempt to deliver so when I get home I grab the notice and it will tell you what time it will be...
