I DLd the desktop 5.10s, used Patje's Modder for the x64 drivers, and installed them. Never had an ounce of trouble running in 1200x800.
The pinout configuration is different, as well as how DDR2 interfaces with the CPU as compared to DDR.
The 7405GX can use either PC 2700 or PC 3200 DDR RAM (200 pin). You can't use the DDR2 your purchased.
The modder isn't for the Catalyst Mobility, it's for the Desktop Catalysts.

There was another thread regarding this. One of the Hitachi drivers is designed for servers - meaning that it comsumes more power and shortens battery life further. You'd want to get the non-server model.
