Rule of thumb, if your a gamer, disable Cool and Quiet. Game developers for the PC have a very hard task in assuring their game operates at an exceptable level for ALL machines of any class. They don't want their game to look bad...

It's a H263 encoded video (or PSP video) so Google for that and you'll find a lot of codecs and players. My favorite is VideoLAN or VLC Media Player.

2 Gig is the sweet spot for Windows XP right now. Any less and you'll suffer application memory swapping more than needed. Any more, and Windows spends too much time managing the extra memory.
