my apologies if i shouldn't have started a new thread for this... i'm growing weary of windows' performance and stubbornness, but i have to say i'm hopelessly hooked on the intuitive gui...anyway...i'm seriously considering going to...
if it's randomly functioning (that's the impression i get from your post) it might be something as simple as a loose connection...the only time i ever had trouble with a cd rom drive, i had to get it replaced, but it was also 3-4 years...
possibly stupid question...would it be possible to ghost just installed applications, and not the os? i imagine this would also require a copy of the registry to be merged after the os reinstall, or something along those lines...not...
i can't offer any input, but lemme know how you like whichever digital slr you wind up with...*drools at the thought of having a digital slr of my own*

yeah, i've never done the firmware action before, but i figured that it might need to be hardwired to be fiddling with how the router does it's wireless business, so i went and did it from another machine, and it worked...makes me 1 for...

the cl56 is going at an outrageous price right now, like ilcacc said, and it's supposed to be a pretty nice machine...i can personally recommend the asus m6ne...nice blend of power and portability...it gets a little warm, but not so that...
i'll say from the start that this is the first time i've ever used a wireless router, let alone configured one...i'm just trying to set it up so it works, and then i'll config the security features... i have a linksys b/g wireless...
