just thought id post my proposed setup and get some comments. interface: m-audio duo - its USB (bah) but it has two mic preamps, two ins, and two outs. stand alone A/D convertor as well. gets good reviews and cat beat the price on...

i think thats kind of like saying people CAN listen to vinyl instead of CDs. but who wants to? people CAN ride bikes everywhere, but we drive cars.

ok, last time replying to myself....the duo does have two 1/4 outputs. i wish it was firewire or at least usb 2.0.

i just re-read that post and....you cant get the outputs on ebay for 100, you can get the DUO on ebay for 100. okay.

if you are just looking to record a few tracks and what not, the extigy would work for you. or you could check out m-audio. the m-audio duo has two mic preamps, two line-ins, and can act as a standalone A/D convertor. it is a USB...

that right there is the beauty of technology, to me at least. truly mobile recording fully realized. not some half-assed product that delivers scaled down quality. and those new ehcoes look very nice. thanks for the info jah.

thats awesome jyoung. just FYI though. when dell says 'boxing', they really mean 'we are shipping your system from or assembly plant in malaysia to nashville where we ACTUALLY box it'. regardless, you will have it much before the 21st.
