When I try to boot from a bootable CD ( XP restore disk or Linux ), all I get is the initial screen saying it's loading and then nothing. My BIOS is set to boot from CD first. My drive is a DVD-RW on a new 8890 and it loads and plays...
I'm assuming that's what the new jumper setting was but there was no documentation with the drive and there were no labels on the drive indicating the jumper settings.
I installed the 3rd drive, partitioned it for Linux with PartitionMagic, and installed SUSE Linux 9.0. GRUB worked great for dual booting. I did have to change the jumper on the new drive to keep it from hanging up on the reboot.
I'm currently using WinXP pro with 2 60GB hard drives in RAID 0 on an 8890. I am going to replace the TV tuner card with another hard drive. Is it possible to install Linux on that 3rd drive and use it to dual boot?
