I doubt you can tell. I have a refurb 700m and Dell repacked every accessory came with the system. However, you can kind of tell how NEW the refurb system is by log-in service tag to Dell website....
No way I would pay $340 for 100GB 7200rpm. I love my Seagate 100gb 5400rpm. It cost me only $160 when I bought mine.
