does the n-6010 play dvd's without booting to windows...just insert it and it plays automatically. can anybody enlighten me on this...will the battery last to play 2 regular DVD movies?

I am planning a desktop replacement and can't decide which one to get. I need this more for video editing and mostly as a pvr so I can copy "24" to a DVD and other tv episodes. Not so much in watching tv on these...
