I'm using nero v. 6.0.0.0. I've read on other forums people having the same problem as myself. My buddy's wife has a dell laptop with a 2x + burner that will burn a whole dvd in about 24 minutes. Is there somthing I'm doing wrong?

Adam, questions, The unit in the pictures, will that be what the production model will look like, or is that a speacial display model? I'm really liking the gold on black look. The paint job looks really nice.

Thanks for your reply, I'm aware of the media dictating the speed of the burn. The thing is, I've used 4x and 2x media from different vendors with the same results. It seems as though the drive will only burn at 1x speed.

Can anyone tell me why my 4760 2x dvd burner is burning at 1x speeds when in nero it says its burning at 2x and shows a estimated burn time of half the time it actually takes to burn? This is driving me crazy, and I have tons of files...

I really don't feel like re-installing windows
