I did the same thing and the people in the know didn't point it out. I wish there would have been a disclaimer with the 660 and operating system stating that Home version would not be upgadable. What do you expect for $3000+++. ...
Laptop 3 ....not kidding! If your fans are as loud as a blow dryer send it back because somethings not right. I am not hyper sensitive, but I dont like loud either. These fans are not LOUD!!!!!
I will say it again..."the fans on the 9860 are not that noisy." People who say they sound like blow dryers are misleading you. Can you hear the fans yes, are the very loud NO. They do run all the time after the processor...
The fan noise is not bad. I had a Dell Inspiron 8200 that was just as loud with the fans running. Don't let people tell you that the fans are really noisy because they are not.
Ok, now how do I get the "stuck fan" to start up. I have tried the hibernate for 10 seconds....no luck. I have tried to reboot...no luck. At this point I can't really use my 9860 because with only one fan working it will hit...
Luke please assure me that this will not cause any problems. I noticed mine doing this and stopped playing WoW to investigate. Mobmeter showed a temp of 71C. Way too hot for me.....It was only operating like that for a couple minutes....
