For the most part, they're different names for the same (or close to the same) thing.
DDR2 or 3, the 6800 Go is a great card. Benchmarks only tell half the story; I'm sure that, especially with such tweaking, the DDR2 will handle games excellently. No doubt, the DDR3 is quite an improvement, but you won't be left behind...
All the computers that aren't built yet. He's referring to those who have already received their 7700, sans 6800 DDR3.

The stock accepts speakers up to 7.1.

I had the same problem for a long time, but I fixed it by screwing around with the audio settings. Check, especially, your sound mode; set it to Stereo Headphones, perhaps--whether or not you use stereo headphones--and it should do a lot...
