Thanks guys. A few more questions. Does anyone have experience with Dell upgrading the processor or doing it yourself is the only way? Does anyone know a good online shop for mobile processors?

According to theregister online computer news site, we should expect Intel to beef up their Dothan processor speeds in July and significantly cut the prices for the current processors....

You also have a volume control in the MS Media Player. You could try reducing volume through that too. Alex
