read the cooling mod thread. keep in mind although this works very well you do risk AW voiding your warranty if they find out. for most of us it sure beats taking a cool pad with you every where u go.

this is my first alienware but ive been building computers for a long time. the parts AW used in my 7700 are top notch i doubt they will crap out in 1.5 years . im planning to use this lappy for along long time.
if you boot up on battery it will cut the multiplier back on the chip , 3.6 runs at 2.94. however if you unlug the AC after you boot your pc will still stay at max.
