Thanks for the information guys Yeah I guess this laptop is a piece of junk. It only has 512mb of ram like you said. Also, the hard drive is 60GB and probably is 4200rpm. Don't know about the graphics card but you are probably right...

Wow, those LaCie drives look really nice. That's about as small as a dvdburner can get. But which to get? USB or FireWire? I heard USB is more reliable.

I don't know how this started but I've noticed a lot of people reffering to it as Mermom... I believe the name is Merom

Personally, i'd just buy an internal drive and put it in an enclosure. But that does sound like a really good deal for a 300GB external Seagate so I dunno. Go with wichever way is cheaper.
