Floating point performance is dismal which rules out the XPS as a 3d rendering machine, despite the cool Ultra chip. Sadly, because of this I have to scratch it from my list and prolly head back to the very big, very heavy and very hot...
Man those wait times are ridiculous, I don't want to wait another month! WAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Tried the patch but still no joy. I just recieved my RMA number so I'll be shipping it back very shortly. Thanks for the help though
Good find, much better
It seems it may be the Promise disk controller causing trouble, After it's last freeze I left it for a while and up popped a nice big BSOD singling out the promise. That would explain why it poops only when doing some active disk work...
Mine too, won't wake from standby frequently.
Yup, same crappy sound here. My Tosh 607 sounds awesome compared to the 9860. It really is a terrible noise, even for a laptop.
I'm having trouble with my SD card in my 9860, it either doesn't recognise it's there or it says it needs formatting. The card and it's contents are fine and have been for the last year and reads perfectely well on my Tosh.
Ok, that didn't seem to help it much, it just crapped out to the desktop while I was away letting it render something. All programs went *poof*. This lemon is heading back to Sager as soon as I get an RMA. Makes me a little dubious...
It's actually /NoExecute=AlwaysOff now just to see if it helps any
