I'm having the exact same issue as in Post #13, with one difference, after a bit my CPU fans come on and then a little while longer the GPU fan comes on.
I forgot to say that the Cd player dealy on the front works and plays cd's nicely.

It's not the memory. I've tried individually in every slot and also tried sticks from another laptop that I know work.
The dvd and the cd drive both spinup fine. The CPU fan takes longer than normal to kick on too. It's not even...
