there's a sticker on the memory slot, just pull the cover to the memory sticks and you should see it.

I have two 60gb HD's in Raid 0 and a DVDRW and a CDRW/DVD drive in mine and it works, so NO it's not true, it will work for the 7700 I have anyway, got it last March
