sigh...found another thread saying car polish was disastrous and spread the scratches. I am awaiting Plexus which seems to be the safest thing I found out there. Ordered it tonite but seeing if someone else has some ideas too.
As far as I can tell there is no plastic film which was little disapointing. Its a refurb and i geuss they didnt put the plastic on it. If its there I can't detect it.
Well I did some google searches and found that this is a very common problem. And the aluminum is faux--its plastic. I just ordered plexus but from what I can tell that only helps a little. Any ideas?
My XPS is a week old and there are 2 deep scratches in the aluminum cover and numerous faint swirl-like scratches. I have been extremely careful to avoid contact with the cover and I don't understand where they come...
no its a typo not the same display. xps 170 has wUxga w truelife and later generation display (the 9200s were discontinued b/c of display problems...but 1st they just eliminated the uxga. my 9200 had the xga not the uxga
the gtx 7800. This is the nicest display I have ever seen on a laptop. I cannot imagin how nice the 1710 must be.
Wow. I am a dell dude for life. Until yesterday I had a 9200 with the wga screen The mousepad needed replacing and due to prior maintenance on the keyboard a screw was stripped. The onsite tech could not fix it and they insisted I ship...

my 1450 requires me to reboot to surf the internet every time I switch wireless networks. Example: I eat at the Panera Bread company which has a free wireless. I pick up the signal but cannot log onto the wireless unless I reboot....
