32 Bit Windows (all) are limited to reading something like 3.6Gb...it cannot read 4Gb. 64 Bit OS's can read 8Gb. IMO, your waste'n your $$ going over 2 to maybe 3Gb or Ram. (never seen 1.5Gb sticks...lol)
That's ATA/IDE. SATA is a small little serial connector. You should be able to bring up Device manager.....and you'll either have a ATA controller or a SATA controller I think. (I have an ATA)
