I think the error codes you refer to are the flashing sequence of the power indicator. If the power indicator is flashing (not just turning orange, but actually tunring on and off), it should be doing so repeating a series of 8 either...
Does the power indicator light blink at all? If so it should blink a series of 8 long/short flashes that are repeated. This code can be interpreted into a diagnostics code.
