Google a little program called CPU-z, download it and run it. On one of the tabs it will give you all the info you could want about the ram, what it's capable of and what it's running at.

What are the unrecognized devices showing up as? For example does it say unrecognized PCI device? Better yet, what HAS been recognized? Maybe it's sound, WiFi, modem, LAN, something like that.
