Do not install the vista support BIOS...they r useless.they change the power management properties in your system...if u run XP with vista BIOS u will have problems with standby and hibernation settings..so better stick with the original...

hi there, I think it is not a hardware problem.What BIOS version u got in your laptop? If you installed any BIOS version other than 3c23 then u can say it was a BIOS fault... I already tried the new BIOS 3c25 and as u said i had same...
