or is it digital buttons that rely on software? i mean, if there is audio comming from the speakers and the computer somehow locks up, i want to be still able to turn down or mute the audio using an analog button.

hey dude, does your laptop (9860) have an analog volume control, or is it digital? also, does it have a wireless lan off/on button somehwere?
