grab a plastic sandwich bag and stick your finger in it and spread the compound across the CPU in small circular motions coving as much of the CPU as possible, but like the previous poster said, dont use too much.
Plain and simple... you've pretty much answered your own question if your hardware isn't working properly, tell them about it and they'll fix it for you. anything past that is all up to you.

odd... i have the MobileForce 169.04 drivers for XP and my LCD shuts off when lid is closed.
mine was around 120 to extend another 2 years but it came with a $50 mail in rebate

It says dell corporation on the back but not the typical dell logo... it seems to be doing the trick right now anyway and if it does harm to my hardware in some way I have CC.

buy a 6 pin to 4 pin adapter at radioshack or something. The extra 2 pins only supply power to the device and have nothing to do with latency. looks a little something like this : LINK
