if its a SP1 key you'll most likely have to call it in. As long as it's legit you should be able to get a new key and or they'll activate. I've had many keys stop working and i was always able to renew them.
i have a G5 and had similar problems. After disabling setpoint at start up and letting XP control my mouse i've never been happier. Helped in gaming 100%
