Sounds like a stuck key. You may want to actually remove the keyboard from the laptop, and try to give it a really good cleaning.

Yup, Russ. Same thing happened to me with my 9860. Only the company I bought the machine from went under. I bought the extended warranty, and no way to use it when the motherboard died. Pissed me off. I will never purchase another...
