How do i find out which one is bad?

Im not bad at fixing desktops so I bought 2 broken laptops cheap. Figure i cant go wrong by just selling the ram, hard drives, cpu, battery, etc, if i cant get them going.   One is a TOSHIBA SATELLITE P100 model PSPA3C-SD300E....
