i have the same 9300 config as you, and it is still very fast. i've had mine since march 2005 too. that being said, i just bought an m1210 last week.

i bought 2 laptops on friday (m1210 and d620) and they both went into boxing the same day. i know that's not shipped, but it is still pretty good.

i have a 9300 right now and I just purchased a m1210 for audio purposes as well. if you are doing audio via USB or FIREWIRE...or even PCMCIA, you will want to use an integrated graphics chipset (my mistake on the 9300). the reason...
