Um.. I just got into the netboot config, had to clear the ESCD before it would work. My bad. Well I just netbooted the 4780 just fine, even though Sager said it was unsupported. Maybe it depends on the bios version or something....
Oh it's right after the POST. But you have to have the "network boot (PXE Oprom)" set to enabled in bios in order for it to show up. Sorry, should have mentioned that straight away.

Well, the realtek 8169's rom (which is what the 4870 has) does have the ability to pxeboot, even the 8139 does (I'm typing this on a toshiba notbook that has an 8139 and pxeboots just fine). Whoever burns these bios firmware images...
Hi, The NP4780 is unable to netboot. I've mailed Sager only to hear that it's 'unsupported'. The option does exist in the bios for this, however. Is there a rational reason for having the pxeboot functionality disabled on these...
I just received my 4780 back from an RMA, and hard disks are not being recognized at boot. I shipped the machine to Sager without the disk, and upon return tried 2 different drives in the machine, and neither of them are being detected....
Does anyone know if it's the realtek lan adapter or is it an Intel adapter now?

Yeah my 4780 requires an RMA. My resellser dropped the ball and missed the 30 day return thing, so I'm hanging onto the machine until I order an 8790 in a month or so. Just can't go without a machine for even a few days. RMA problems...
