tried to repair it, bought new motherboard, but turns out it wasnt the motherboard, i think its the video card, but im not willing to spend anymore on the 7700

hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates, my lappy's been dead for about two months now, and am in the process of replacing it.

Try letting the computer for a while on and see it logs on to windows....if it doesn't its not your display card, its probably your motherboard...mine fried two weeks ago with the same symptoms, i just fixed it today

Thanks BFisch06, after you told me that and like half an hour of researching found out that the 661 is a PCG05A , and that only the latest motherboards with the 915g chipset have PCG05A. Probably the best processor the lappy supports is...

I recently bought a new p4 661 from a friend and wanted to upgrade my lappy thinking it should be compatible but when i put it in the lappy doesn't boot , its like if there is no processor in the lappy. anyone know if it isn't...

The AW7700 no longer shows on the alienware page ! It has sadly been discontinued...i think they won't ever release new drivers for it :P
