nope...no switch or anything....I think the drive is defective or something...ill return it and get another one to see if the drive is the problem

the only difference i can think of is the brand.. they both seem to have the same specs... mushkin is a really good memory, i would suggest it is better than crucial, but that is just me and my speculations
about testing the modules, just test them with each stick on the computer...one of the mem modules on my comp fried and i had to test them like stupid because sometimes they show little or no error when there is a good module and a bad...
hey slurpee...i would first recommend testing your memory modules using the windows memory analizer and check module by module and determine if any is damaged...then for memory i would recommend the corsair value select on newegg
