I think you are talking about virtual desktop. And to my knowledge the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 doesn't support it. I wish it did because I have an app that won't run unless it "sees" 1280x1024.

You use Centrino Hardware Control. Its a little software app. Just search for it and you'll find it.

AutoCAD- Depends on your AutoCAD usage, if you are playing around and drawing CAD of your house / apt then 512mb is plenty. If you are in the business of designing $100M shopping malls then everything gets 2GB of ram.

If you are going to play games the 6000 with the ATI graphics card is your only real option. Unless playing games = solitaire. I love my 700m I knew before buying it that it's not meant for games and most of the latest and greatest...
