i have a compaq presario old model 1ghz pentium 3 mobile, 32 mb graphics and its got a heat sink problem that i read about online so it gets really hot, while playing cs it goes upto 81-86 and while watching movies it stays around 60s.

You can also look into the Hp Pavilion Zt3000 series. Its got 1.5ghz and higher, 512 mb ram , 64 mb graphic card , internal wifi, 15.4" screen, 3.5 hrs battery life, 6.5 pounds and looks decent and all this for around $1300-$1400.

hey what if i do the same thing when dells 20% off deal is just gonna get over, then i bet they will have some newer deals, so technically if i get up early and order like you did, i should be able to get the 20% and the newer deals rite?

I would trust MNguyen281 on this one, I have read his claims here and on the dell forums before and he was right all the time. Now i think i would be buying inspiron xps surely!

hey how much did the xps cost you guys, with taxes and shipping? Their are so many different prices on the site. The cheapest i could get was $2486 with tax and the following config: 3.4ghz, 512mb ram, 60gb 7200rpm hdd, 24x cdrw/dvd...

Please post a huge review once u get it...i am really looking forward to have a look at its performance...its either this or 8790....though i am inclined towards xps.

Even i may be thinking of buying this machine.. So did you talk to Dell about the 512mb 1 stick or will you be getting the 2 x 256mb sticks?
