I get a similar beep when I come back from hibernate. It beeps through headphones, if I have them plugged into the jack. The sound is a long beep, and then 3 short beeps, repeated over and over again until I hold down the power button...

I second that opinion. Use AVG. You'll never go back to anything else after that. It's stopped viruses for me on multiple occasions, and found some on other people's computers, when I uninstalled their crappy Norton and installed AVG...
