For me, the scroll buzzing occurs during any 2d app that allows verticle scrolling. The first card I had was very loud, second one not as bad, and the 7800 is very quiet. If I turn down the powermizer setting, it goes away.

I think my experience may have been part luck, timing, confusion. But I will take it. I didn't ask for any of it as well.

I like that idea, but I also noticed something else. If I have just defragged, then HL2 DM doesn't seem as likely to crash on a new map. Could this be a hard drive issue?

Here is something weird too, maybe someone could explain. I can only run very specific settings of AA and filtering, otherwise I get weird display issues in the HUD. Like ammo and such won't all be displayed.

its mainly the black or white screen, weird noise, then reboot. It only happens in games and I have tried many drivers with little difference.

Has anyone else had crashing due to the video card that is just related to specific applications. i.e. would a new card do any good?
