In the UK they have usually been accurate but with my latest M1730 they were telling me an extra 3 weeks on top of the original 3 weeks due to a shortage of 160gb hard drives so I cancelled and re-ordered this time with 200gb hard drives...
lappy going back - re-order in place :-)
I had various problems including trend internet security stopped working - trend told me its not compatible with SP1 so I put AVG on instead
(UK) Ordered mine with 8800 on 14th Feb estimated delivery 4th March
I tried Vista SP1 on my ultimate M1730 but It broke so many things I removed it - but that broke some things too - good job I'm getting a new lappy :-)
In the UK Dell told me the 8800sli part for M1730 will probably be about 400 pounds but its not on the system and they don't know when it will be - 2 of the reps tried to sell me a desktop card instead haha :-)
Thanks for all the replies guys, the M1730 with 8700sli i bought in november cost 1949 uk pounds so prices have def dropped cos I'm paying just 50 pounds more for the same system but with the 8800sli, if the penryn comes out in the next...
thanks dave, i was tempted to wait for the penryn models but there is no date for them so I thought I may as well go for it - I'm not sure the performance increase would be that great for gaming anyway. and I should get most of the vat...

I have a call into Dell UK so I 'm waiting for them to tell me if the 8800 will be available as a part for the M1730, if not I will send the lappy back I think and re-order.
