yes, i would get the 15" as well... the 12 incher hasn't been updated in a while, and is starting to show its age

if you just want to rip the dvd you can use Mac The Ripper

you could also just replace the ram in the P3 machine with 2x256mb RAM. You can get 256mb PC100 RAM for about $15 each.

you should be able to easily swap the cpus, as they both should use the Slot 1 interface.

I've had good luck with Handbrake. It will convert DVDs, VIDEO_TS folders, or whatever to MPEG-4, H.264, AVI, or Ogg. Plus, its Free.

give them a try for a while, that should tell you if the problem is with your card or with the AP
