i have this same problem, the locking mechanism does not click until you put a little extra umph into it. someone else on this forum told me same thing happens with their m1710.

argh there is a stuck red pixel that is sort of in the middle of the screen! anything i can do to make it go away? now i have to call, and complain about both the red pixel and downgrade in gfx card. i could've sworn the red pixel...
