Its normal Basically the DVD drive is hotswappable with other MediaBay devices (eg. 2nd battery, hard drive) so that icon is there just to stop the drive before you remove it. I think theres an option somewhere to control what comes...

Oh yeah, if you just never press the bluetooth switch and turn the powerplay settings for the graphics card to low when you're not playing games the thing is silent....
