I'm running Vista on both of mine and DVD's and recorded TV look fantastic. I alternate between WinDVD, Power DVD, and Media Center and have no issues. It's almost as good as watching on an HDTV.

I had the same problem but solved it by turning off the power play option in the ATI catalyst control center.
For the jagged images in IE there is the Dell Scaling Utility download. There is also a registry fix posted many times over in the forum.
