ya, i think im using the 8x DVD-r Ritek discs, im not sure what the media code is i'll pull that out for you guys soon.

i have the NEC 6500A i think.

I've gotten the 8x DVD/RW, but how come Nero can only burn discs at 4x? This probably have been addressed in other threads but i cant seem to find them. I have updated the firmware so the drive is region free. What else do i need to do?
