Looks as if, for the current versions of Vista, Microsoft actually recommends ATI branded graphics chips and even specifically lists the Acer Ferrari 3400 and 4000 series notebooks as choice, amongst a few others for the current beta...
So these drivers are supposed to help out X1x00 owners with video playback quality.
Can anyone tell if those of us with older VPU's get any benifit's as well?

For the new series of cards, i.e. X1x00, this driver is supposed to offer great image quality in video playback.
It seems to help with gaming performance for older cards too.
In my experiance, the HD movie stuttering was greatly reduced when running PC3200 RAM.
Unfortunately, actually running RAM at PC3200 speeds is not as easy as it should be.
