I know the portable external hdd's don't work since the usb don't provide enough power. Do the new MBP's? Anyone know if the Firewire 800's provide enough power to power a portable hdd? TIA.
I would think games would run well on the MBP's since they are using the intel chip and have better gfx, even though OS is a huge part of its operation. You could always play games in Windows which seems to perform better, at least that...
Also, I'd probably check out the prices and see if your getting a fair/even deal. I'm sure the MBP costs a lot more then the Dell since you can use coupons and what not, but it might be a few hundred dollars more. I would stick with...
Welcome to the dark side, mwah hah hah ha ha.... ...actually, after playing w/your Apple machine, you'll finally realize Windows is the dark side :P.
Spec out the Dell on their website and see what the price comes out to. Also, the dell is 17" so it'll be pretty big, both in size and weight. You could also just give OS X a couple more tries to fix your issues.
