Go into Control Panel > Sound And Audio Devices
Click the Audio Tab
Set the devices you want for playback and recording with the pulldowns.
Then put a check into box at bottom marked "Use only default...

As soon as I got the system, plugged it in , booted up, went through Dell's annoying welcome screens, downloaded 3DMark05, and ran it.
No software was removed or modified.
Now it's time to format the bad boy and get a clean install...
They really are about the same system. The only thing that still kept me from buying a Sager/Clevo last month is their dead pixel policy. When I shell out that kinda money, I expect 0 dead pixels.

Most of those XPS2 on EBay are refurbs. They just run scripts that continously monitor the Outlet for laptops in a set price range and pick em up for resale.
