hi there! i have a little problem and it is driving me mad. ever since i tryied new graphics drivers my dvd programs (no matter which ones i use) don't work anymore. there is only a black screen and sound. i can see one or two frames...

the only thing i would wish for is that i can choos if i want a cool and loud or a hot and quiet notebook. why doesn't acer publish "save" cpu temperatures and let us decide when the fan should kick in and how fast the fan...

here we go.. but before u listen to the files let me tell u one thing: after i listened to those files i started hating my laptop and all the little noises out of a sudden became verrrry loud.. so - BE AWARE. THIS MIGHT BE DANGEROUS ...

i can only confirm that there sometimes is a high noise coming from the intel wifi card (first i thought it only appeared while powering up - but then it also sometimes happens when the notebook is completly powered up). there was also...

same thing here... they couldn't keep up with their promised delivery time... and after i phoned them for a few times they did send it.. hmm.. not a nice thing to do i'd say... but i still cannot say whether or not the harddrive noise...

i had that problems with all driver versions but the stock drivers. couldn't watch dvds and had problems with fullscreen videos. think it's some overlay problem. still haven't managed to fix it...

.. i just ordered the ezdock from triocomputers, new york. that's strange considering i live in austria and that acer is one of the biggest notebook producers over here - but no shop in germany or austria has the dockingstation in...

naahh.. bluetooth has got nothing to do with it in my case.. just the harddrive i guess. don't know wether it is normal or not - but it is louder then other laptops i have heard. and since seagete claims that their momentus series is one...

how long is the cable of the ezdock? i would like to put it further behind the laptop, like half a meter - is that possible? thanx gernot
