on another note, if I just go with the 1 year limited warranty, will Dell automatically notify me when my warranty is almost finished asking me if I wanted to renew it? if this is the case I mite just get the one year and renew it...

I am having this exact same dilema... I'm planning on purchasing the Dell 700m and I don't know whether I should get the complete care or get an extended 3 year warranty? My brother says the one year warranty is good enough...
