dell.com goto support then click download drivers, then select your model of laptop and choose os as vista, the video card drivers will be there.
no the e1705 has a alot lower power requirement than your m1710, our ac adapters are 90w only and alot smaller, i believe yours is 110 or something like that.
Asus is releasing an express card external video card 'adapter' basically it will allow any laptop with a built in express card slot to use ANY desktop version of any pci-express video cards such as all of the 8series nvidia cards...

Yes they both fit, the dual pipe needs a slight modification which takes about 5 seconds to do. (breaking off a piece of small plastic in the way of the second heatsink.)
